    Location and hours:
    These positions are located at NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center, 2220 Plymouth Avenue North, Minneapolis, Minnesota. These are full time or part time positions with hours between Monday through Friday, 8:30 A.M - 5:00 P.M. with a rotating Saturday schedule.

    In these positions, you will:
    • Perform complete prophylaxis including scaling, root planning, soft tissue curettage, and polishing of fillings.
    • Perform preliminary examination including securing case history, performing periodontal probing, and recording clinical findings.
    • Advise patients on proper diet and dental care.
    • Chart patient treatments.
    • Counsel patient and family on dental care and treatments.
    Need to have:
    One of the Following:
    • Associate's degree in a dental hygiene program approved by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)
    • Note: Some positions require successful completion of a Certified Restorative Expanded Functions (FEF) Training Program.
    • Possession of a valid license as a dental hygienist issued by the State of Minnesota.
    Nice to have:
    • Certification to administer anesthetics and nitrous oxide.
    • Experience:
      • As a dental hygienist including applying sealants.
      • Using Electronic Dental Record and Digital Radiography (DXone).
      • Working within a community based environment.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform dental techniques and procedures, preliminary examination procedures, instructional techniques, and oral hygiene techniques.
  • Ability to:
    • Chart patient treatments and progress.
    • Clean and maintain dental equipment and instruments.
    • Work effectively in a team environment.
    • Respect and appreciate diverse co-workers and customers.
  • Candidates with fluency in Spanish, Hmong and Somali in addition to English are encouraged to apply. Bilingual candidates who pass a language assessment may qualify for additional bilingual pay and duties.
