    Senior Pedestrian Protection Simulation Engineer

    Job Summary:

    Our client in Troy, MI is looking for a Senior Pedestrian Protection Simulation Engineer. This is a Contract position.

    This position is responsible for performing ped pro simulations to enhance pedestrian safety.

    The Senior Pedestrian Protection Simulation Engineer will be working with CAE tools to improve Ped Pro performance as per NHTSA or EURO NCAP requirements. The Senior Pedestrian Protection Simulation Engineer will be responsible for point mapping and performing lower leg, upper leg and head impact simulations using Ls Dyna. This candidate is using pre-processing tools like ANSA and HYPERMESH to create and debug the ped pro model. This senior engineer will use META or HYPERWORKS to post-process the impact simulation results and to update the scorecard. He/she will suggest recommendations for improving the design. This senior engineer can understand the problem by digging into and analyzing the results and can find the optimized solution by performing several ped pro simulation iterations. The Senior Pedestrian Protection Simulation Engineer is involved in component, sub-assembly, and ped pro testing too and he/she will correlate the CAE results with the test data.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program.
    • Master's degree or PHD is preferred.
    • 8+ years of experience in performing Ped Pro simulations.
    • Experience with using Ls Dyna, ANSA, META, HYPERWORKS and PRIMER.
    • Knowledge of EURO NCAP, FMVSS, USNCAP and IIHS.
    • Knowledge of optimization tools and techniques.
    • Knowledge of applying engineering fundaments in the development.
    • Ability to work independently from start to end.
    • Strong oral and verbal communication skills.
    • Act as a team player and problem solver.
    • Experience with correlation of CAE and test results.
