Sports Coordinator Job Description
The YMCA is searching for a responsible and organized Sports Coordinator to assist the Program Director with the sports programs that exceeds the expectations of the members, program participants and the community.
He/She must be able to grow and expand all programs as well as develop new program initiatives that will expand the services of the YMCA and have a greater connection into our community.
He/She must be a team player and must attend all meetings that are deemed necessary. Incumbent should be outgoing and able to interact with staff, members, program participants, volunteers and thecommunity in a positive way.
The Sports Coordinator must be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends. He/She must be a self starter that is focused on building strong relationships.
He/She must be an excellent communicator understanding the importance and follow-thru of communication with all branch staff, participants, volunteers and the community.
He/She must be proficient with computers.He/She must be able to complete required trainings including but not limited to First Aid/CPR, Child Abuse Prevention, Sexual Harassment, and New Staff Orientation within the first 30 days.
Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Setting up and breaking down sports equipment
- Transporting sports equipment to and from game locations
- Monitoring your assigned field
- Officiating youth sports
- Assist the sports director with any and all gameday tasks
