    ***If you have the required experience and are looking to start your career with the Department of Corrections, apply today*** THE POSITION DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position functions as lead worker by assigning, participating in, and reviewing routine and specialized tasks performed by inmates in the areas of pre-preparation, production, service, and baking. You will ensure proper control over inmates by enforcing custody and security regulations and inspect all food service areas, equipment, and food for conformance with established safety and sanitation standards.

    **Schedule/Other Information**

    Work Hours: 4:30am to 12:30pm or 12:00pm to 8:00pm, Rotating Days Off

    This position is 40 hours per week.

    This position is eligible for full benefits at age 50 or 55.

    This position is subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY Two years of experience in food preparation, production, and service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation;

    **OR**

    Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

    **Preferred Skills (preferred but not required)**

    2 years of experience in a large-sale food production operation in food preparation.

    ServSafe food handler certification.
