Assistant Corporate Controller
Location:
Greater Chicago area
Compensation:
$180,000–$225,000 base + bonus potential + equity

Position Overview
This critical leadership role will
oversee corporate accounting, financial reporting, and technical accounting
, serving as a strategic partner to the Corporate Controller. You will manage a large team, lead the monthly close process and reporting process and identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead
general accounting and corporate financial reporting
, ensuring accuracy and compliance - Oversee
technical accounting matters
, including complex transactions and policy implementation - Drive the
monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
, focusing on timeliness and automation - Manage and develop a team of
10+ accounting professionals
, fostering a high-performance culture - Partner with external auditors and ensure readiness for audits and compliance requirements
- Support
system implementations or conversions
, ensuring smooth transitions and process improvements - Collaborate with leadership on
strategic initiatives
, including process optimization and integration projects
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
- CPA strongly preferred; prior
public accounting experience
helpful - Background in
product-based industries - Experience in
private equity-backed organizations
or similar fast-paced environments - Proven ability to lead large teams and drive process improvements
- Familiarity with
system implementations or ERP conversions - Strong technical knowledge of
US GAAP and internal controls
