    MassBio's Edge Program is growing, and we are currently recruiting a Business Development Manager to lead initiatives aimed at accelerating program awareness, fostering adoption, and fostering sustained growth of the Edge Program. The Manager will facilitate business growth and maximize benefits for all stakeholders through strategic engagement with member companies, optimization of supplier agreements, and facilitation of cross-departmental collaboration. This role will involve proactively identifying and capitalizing on business development opportunities, leveraging strong relationships with member companies and supplier partners, and aligning program objectives with the broader organizational goals to ensure long-term success and profitability. This position is based on-site in our Cambridge, Massachusetts office and we are seeking a local candidate.

    Key Responsibilities Include:

    • Cultivate and nurture relationships with key contacts at new and existing member companies to drive utilization of vendor agreements and facilitate business growth
    • Collaborate closely with existing supplier partners to ensure their offerings align with program objectives, drive business development opportunities, and identify avenues for enhancing member value
    • Analyze and understand existing supplier partner agreements to identify areas for optimization and cost-effectiveness and enhance member benefits to support business development initiatives
    • Conduct comprehensive market research to uncover potential opportunities for expanding program adoption among new members and driving business growth
    • Work collaboratively with internal departments to identify strategies to foster business development and develop tactics for maximizing program awareness and utilization
    • Utilize data analytics from internal CRM systems and other resources to assess member engagement and pinpoint areas for enhancement, contributing to strategic business development decisions
    • Work with Senior Director of Edge Programs to execute strategic business plans to increase program visibility, foster adoption, and drive member engagement to support overall business development objectives
    • Regularly monitor and report on key performance indicators related to program awareness, adoption rates, and member retention, informing ongoing business development strategies
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging best practices in member benefits optimization to inform program enhancements and support business development efforts

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field
    • 3-5 years' experience in a sales or business development role
    • Proven experience in business development within the Life Sciences or a related field
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with stakeholders at all levels
    • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute business plans to achieve organizational objectives
    • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software
    • Knowledge of vendor management and procurement processes is a plus

    The position entails a balanced time allocation, with approximately 50% office-based responsibilities and 50% travel requirements for client meetings, industry events, and supplier partner visits. Our office is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts and only Boston-based candidates will be considered. The capacity to travel and engage in face-to-face interactions is crucial for cultivating and sustaining relationships, identifying new business prospects, and representing the organization adeptly across diverse settings.
