    Description

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead, manage & mentor a team of junior and mid-level Data Scientists
    • Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, machine learning, data mining, and data visualization to create an understanding of relationships between creative characteristics and ad performance data
    • Capture business requirements for data and analytic solutions and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure requirements align with business needs
    • Work with product management teams to develop data & machine learning roadmap and with data engineering teams to identify and implement data pipelines and tools to ensure efficient and seamless execution
    • Work with product management teams and community management teams to fully instrument VidMob's "services-in-the-loop" approach (for creative decision, strategic insights and more) in order to accelerate model development for insights and creative optimization
    • Lead the development of our predictive algorithms across a number of different areas all with the aim of better understanding our customers and our business
    • Iterate on existing and prototype new algorithms and work with engineering to integrate into our production code base
    • Surface and analyze outputs from computer vision, optical character recognition (OCR) and machine learning
    • Partner in the creation of technology, dashboards and user interfaces available to clients for understanding creative performance
    • Institute quality control and ethical guidelines for algorithms, code, and outputs
    • Work closely with our cloud partners to adopt AutoML solutions allowing our internal resources to focus on market differentiating work.

    Qualifications:

    • 10+ years of experience in data science and machine learning
    • 3+ years of experience leading a team of data scientists, including mentorship, support, and performance management
    • Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms (supervised and unsupervised learning) and advanced statistics (time series forecasting, clustering algorithms, probabilistic models)
    • Client centricity - an obsession with the client and ability to empathize; a natural bias towards taking a client-centric lens in how we frame, approach, and ultimately solve every problem the team works on
    • Creativity - you believe data exploration and analysis is an inherently creative endeavor, and you have a knack of solving problems in non-linear ways utilizing all resources available to you
    • Curiosity and Forward Thinking - a natural and persistent inclination to explore, discover, and learn, and a general fascination with analytics. The drive to go beyond asking "what?" to ask "why?"; a commitment to digging beneath the surface and interrogating information versus accepting it at face value.
    • Experience dealing with large and disparate data sets and analytics tools
    • Experience working in Computer Vision, NLP and regression modeling
    • Experience with AWS AI/ML ecosystem and big data processing technologies (Redshift, Big Query)
    • Experience with the full ML lifecycle, including research, development, deployment, and iteration on ML models using tools such as Sagemaker or MLFlow
