Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic Medical Groups and St. Mary Medical Center have an excellent full time employment opportunity for an experience Physician Assistant to the Cardiothoracic Vascular group in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.
The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Cardiothoracic Surgeon in the operating room, office and hospital setting(s). The physician assistant will scrub in on cardiac, thoracic, and vascular OR cases as assigned/needed and will demonstrate a proactive approach in preparation for each procedure. They will function as a first assistant in surgery when assigned by providing adequate assistance, anticipating and showing initiative and surgical skills.
The selected candidate will be able to provide and demonstrate complex surgical skills when assisting in surgery, i.e. harvesting of vein grafts initiating or assisting in rendering emergency care or other appropriate first aid in life threatening situations. They will also provide cardiothoracic and vascular consultative services in the hospital to patients as requested by physicians, round on patients regularly, perform discharge planning function and discharge patients under the direction and supervision of the Cardiothoracic/vascular Surgeons. They will also assist physicians with call as needed.
The successful candidate must have two to four years of experience, while five to eight years of experience is preferred. Previously Cardiothoracic surgery OR experience as well as an active PA Physician Assistant License, BLS and ACLS certifications are also required.
