    About the job Machinist Job DescriptionReview job packets for setups and job specific informationSetup jobs on the machine including clamps, shims, wedges and various other tooling to physically secure the jobIdentify, locate and load items using equipment as needed (cranes, fork trucks etc.)Load program and verify accuracy through either a test run (if possible) or verifying accuracy as job is being worked onWrite basic programs and edit Cam programsContinually monitor job and ensure accuracy and speedsContinually improve the process by finding, documenting and implementing (both independently and with the help of the team) more efficient ways to complete the job (updated programming, positioning, tooling etc.)Cleanup finished product by de-burring, wiping down etc.

    Unload finished product from machine and ensure that it is moving on to its next work centerMaintain a safe, clean working environmentMake management aware of any issues with the machine or consumables General SkillsAbility to read blueprints/drawingsUse various measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, tape measure etc.)Proficient in math (algebra, geometry, etc.)
