As a senior engineer on our IP Development scrum team, you will collaborate closely with architects to assess and craft solutions for assigned features. After defining the solution, your role will involve implementing it by creating custom and off-the-shelf software through design, development, testing, and deployment. You will collaborate with various technology teams, including architecture, infrastructure, operations, vendors, and consultants, to execute the project roadmap.

This role is based in Lafayette, LA, or Lebanon, VA.

The ideal candidate will be an integral member of our agile team. The Senior Back-End Engineer should be self-driven with a strong work ethic, excellent time management, and interpersonal skills. Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency in software engineering and effective communication.

Responsibilities:

- Engage with architects/product team/leads to understand functional challenges, test new ideas and technologies, and aid in developing innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with architects, and product owners to design, develop, test, and document frameworks, toolkits, and applications.
- Create new services by writing code and utilizing existing Microservices and APIs.
- Deliver solid technical designs, code, and documentation.
- Implement software development best practices throughout the development life cycle.
- Ensure software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements.
- Uphold secure coding standards and best practices.
- Maintain high software quality standards through code review processes.

Required Qualifications:
8-10 years of Software Engineering experience encompassing design, development, coding, testing, deployment, documentation, and debugging.
- 6+ years of Java technology stack experience. Back-end development skills supporting databases, server-side development, and CI/CD integration.
- Proficiency in Spring framework (Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Security).
- Solid experience with relational databases, including PostgreSQL DB.
- Knowledge of developing and utilizing Microservices and APIs.
- Strong understanding of REST services.
- 2 years of experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS tools and environments.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and the CI process using Docker, Kubernetes.
- Experience with versioning systems like Github, Bitbucket, etc.
- Ability to work with automated unit test frameworks like Junit and Mockito.
- Self-motivated with the ability to take the lead or support as needed.
- Excellent communication, documentation skills, and capability to engage with senior architects.

Desired Experience:
- Experience with web client-side development using JavaScript frameworks like Angular, React, Typescript.
- Proficiency in technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap.
- Understanding of Cloud, security, infrastructure, databases, and networking.
