    The Role:
    The Crew Foreman is responsible for managing the lead installers and solar installation for 2-4 crews. They will work in the field on a weekly basis.

    As the main point of contact for lead installers, this person should be fully competent in all aspects of solar installation.

    This includes OSHA and safety practices, roof installations, ground mount installations, and commissioning.

    This person should be able to lead a diverse team in an efficient manner and have the ability to train new installers on all aspects of installation.


    • Lead and manage up to four installation crews in the branch
    • Collaborate with Construction Manager on employee reviews, compensation, and corrective action for the respective installation crews
    • Work with installation crews in the field to maintain company goals for install capacity
    • Train new installers on installation practices and safety standards
    • Review projects before installation to ensure potential issues are mitigated
    • Work on roofs, ladders, crawlspaces, attics and other residential and commercial areas
    • Implement quality control checks with each installation crew
    • Interact with clients in a respectful manner
    • Accurately upload information to CRM
    • Proficient in all aspects of roof and ground-mount solar PV systems
    • Proficient in NEC requirements for solar installation and system design
    • Proficient in testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting systems and components
    • Ability to read schematics and follow technical installation instructions
    • Keep up to date with code requirements and system installation
    • Comply with company policies and procedures
    • Enforce all company policies and procedures
    • OSHA 10 certification (minimum requirement) and Competent Person certification, required
    • Obtain 40 hour NABCEP course certification and work towards NABCEP certification

    What You Provide:

    • Help grow with the company in Montana
    • Extensive knowledge of PV equipment and installation
    • Be comfortable climbing a ladder and working on a roof
    • Be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions
    • Have strong mechanical aptitude
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
    • High attention to detail and quality
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Management or leadership experience, preferred
    • Experience in roof work, general carpentry, preferred
    • Ability to maintain professional aptitude
    • Ability to maintain company tools
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and criminal background

    Required Tools and Equipment:

    • Personal hand tools including screwdriver set or multi-tool (11 in 1) driver, wire strippers, diagonal wire cutters, impact rated socket set, socket adapter, tool belt, bag or backpack
    • Weather appropriate attire with at least one piece of Purelight Power Company apparel (provided) worn at all times when on the clock
    • Weather and job appropriate footwear

    Provided Tools and Equipment:

    • Safety harness and rope w/ rope grab and shock absorber
    • Fall protection anchors and devices
    • Power tools including impact drill and circular / reciprocating saw
    • IPad and/or MacBook Air
