    This role can be performed remotely or from our York, PA office with a Monday/Wednesday in-office plan.

    Summary/objective:

    As a member of the Healthcare team, the Vertical Transport Specialist will have a thorough understanding of elevatoring design and analysis (healthcare experience is a plus). The work performed requires a high level of attention to detail, skill, and proficiency preparing and completing elevatoring analysis reports, drawings, specifications, and other project deliverables. The Vertical Transport Specialist will work with other talented Engineers, Project Managers, Directors, and client teams. Engineering functions will include process flow analysis, statistical data analysis and correlation, layout generation, equipment evaluation, and cost analysis.

    Experience Requirement:

    • 6+ years of job-related experience performing analysis and design services, as well as creating performance-based specifications for elevator equipment. Experience in hospital projects preferred.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manipulate data in databases and spreadsheets. (A high level of proficiency in MS Excel or other database tools, MS Office, and MS Project).
    • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • High attention to detail.
    • Commitment to continuous improvement

    Education Requirement:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master's Degree in addition to the minimum years of experience is preferred) with formal training by a nationally recognized elevator firm.
    • 6+ years of experience in the application and design of elevators, preferably elevatoring experience for the healthcare industry.
    • Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
    • Strong analytical experience related to degree required conducting cost analysis, layout design, time studies, or inventory analysis required. Preferred experience in a hospital or medical facility environment.

    Computer Skills:

    • Analytical experience.
    • Proficiency in, MS Excel, MS Office, and MS Project.
    • Proficiency in ELEVATE software a plus.
    • Familiarity or willingness to learn Bluebeam Software for document review and mark-up drawings.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Analyst data training.
    • Serve as a reference for Engineers.
    • Possible supervision of an Engineer on larger or more complex projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Ongoing responsibilities to support St. Onge Company healthcare projects include the following:

    • Knowledge and understanding of ASME A17, building codes, and other local regulations.
    • Knowledge of elevatoring in hospitals and healthcare facilities.
    • Understanding traffic types and patterns within hospitals and healthcare facilities.
    • Establishing elevator design criteria for projects.
    • Performing elevator equipment analysis.
    • Providing ongoing training, both for new hires as well as existing healthcare staff.
    • Monitoring industry technical design developments applicable to the health care industry and communicating this information to the St. Onge Company healthcare consulting team.
    • Contributing to the development and maintenance of the firm's elevator specification templates.
    • Presenting elevator analysis findings to clients.

    Work Environment:

    Primarily a controlled office environment. Client sites could consist of hospital environments or warehouse operations, and conditions may vary.

    Physical Demands:

    St Onge Company operates both hybrid and remote office options. Client site visits may entail walking tours through the hospital support service and patient care areas. Projects may entail lifting materials up to 50 lb.

    Travel Requirements:

    Travel is client dependent and typically ranges from 10-30%. Travel will vary from project to project. Travel may be extensive at times and less extensive at other times. Travel may be local car travel, regional train travel, or domestic or international Air travel.
