    Description

    Position: Laboratory Specimen Processing Technician

    Company: Medical Laboratory Services


    Overview:
    Responsible for handling, evaluating, and releasing results of laboratory specimens for analysis to ensure accurate and timely reporting.


    Talent Pool: Allied Health


    Responsibilities:

    • Perform all processes related to testing laboratory specimens.
    • Analyze quality control testing and assurance activities.
    • Maintain and troubleshoot complex instrumentation.
    • Ensure completion of corrective actions before releasing test results.
    • Prioritize duties to meet laboratory turnaround times.
    • Complete annual competencies and continuing education assignments on time.
    • Comply with regulatory standards and safety policies.
    • Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.
    • Practice efficient use of supplies and participate in inventory control.

    Qualifications:


    EDUCATION:
    Required - Associates degree in medical laboratory technology, clinical laboratory science, or related field.
    Preferred - Associates degree in medical laboratory technology.


    EXPERIENCE:
    Preferred - Minimum six months experience as a technical generalist.


    LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
    Must have Medical Laboratory Technician certification with either ASCP or AMT upon hire.
