    The Department of Kinesiology in the College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Sport Management to begin Fall 2024.

    Rank will be determined upon qualifications. Primary teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate courses in Sport Management and/or other classes based upon knowledge and expertise. This is a full-time, 9-month appointment that will require teaching, scholarly activity and grantsmanship, service, and student mentoring/advisement.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Earned doctorate degree in Sport Management or related field. Advanced ABD will be considered; degree must be conferred by the time of appointment
    • To be considered for Associate Professor rank, a minimum of five (5) years of experience at the assistant professor or comparable rank is required
    • Demonstrated pattern of scholarly productivity
    • Demonstrated pattern of teaching excellence
    • Demonstrated pattern of advising and mentoring students
    • Demonstrated pattern of service at the university and professional levels
    • Experience and/or training to utilize technology in course delivery (e.g., learning management system, online pedagogy).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Two (2) or more years of experience teaching undergraduate/graduate sport management courses,
    • Teaching expertise in at least two, and preferably more than three, content areas of sport management; (1) sport communications/media, (2) sport finance/economics, (3) sport entrepreneurship/strategy, (4) sport analytics, and (5) e-sport,
    • Evidence of high-quality teaching, student mentorship and engagement,
    • Active research agenda in sport management with demonstrated ability to publish in high-quality, high-impact, peer-reviewed journals
    • Documented success with securing external funding
    • Relevant industry experience with significant industry contacts.
