- Earned doctorate degree in Sport Management or related field. Advanced ABD will be considered; degree must be conferred by the time of appointment
- To be considered for Associate Professor rank, a minimum of five (5) years of experience at the assistant professor or comparable rank is required
- Demonstrated pattern of scholarly productivity
- Demonstrated pattern of teaching excellence
- Demonstrated pattern of advising and mentoring students
- Demonstrated pattern of service at the university and professional levels
- Experience and/or training to utilize technology in course delivery (e.g., learning management system, online pedagogy).
- Two (2) or more years of experience teaching undergraduate/graduate sport management courses,
- Teaching expertise in at least two, and preferably more than three, content areas of sport management; (1) sport communications/media, (2) sport finance/economics, (3) sport entrepreneurship/strategy, (4) sport analytics, and (5) e-sport,
- Evidence of high-quality teaching, student mentorship and engagement,
- Active research agenda in sport management with demonstrated ability to publish in high-quality, high-impact, peer-reviewed journals
- Documented success with securing external funding
- Relevant industry experience with significant industry contacts.
