    What You'll Do


    Find, place under contract, receive governmental approval and close on new land that is suitable to be entitled/developed and sold to residential developers (homebuilders, multifamily builders, etc) around Central Alabama.

    Responsibilities

    Plan, direct and coordinate all land acquisition activities.
    Develop business community relationships and scout other avenues for possible acquisitions.
    Identify and qualify potential land acquisitions in alignment with division goals.
    Negotiates the acquisition of properties with landowners, attorneys or brokers.
    Prepare land valuation analysis and corporate budgets.
    Prepare memoranda and other documentation and analytics for corporate approval for land buys.

    Manage due diligence process on land acquisition opportunities, including initial master planning work in close coordination with land development team.

    Manage and coordinate resources for and meet all entitlement needs for land acquisitions.
    Collaborate with the Land Development Department on potential development communities.
    Monitor development phases and entitlement processes post-closing.
    Maintain due diligence documentation.
    Update management on acquisition status and issues on a timely basis.
    What You'll Need

    5+ years of experience acquiring land in the residential, commercial and/or light industrial industries
    Bachelor's Degree
    Knowledge of the Alabama land market to include experience developing relationships and presenting to local landowners, civic officials, zoning officials, etc is highly preferred
    Experience or strong understanding of the homebuilding industry would be a big plus
