Senior Software Development Engineer, Bidder, DSP - Palo Alto, United States - Amazon

    Amazon background
    Paid Work
    Description

Amazon Advertising builds next-generation solutions that enable advertisers to reach customers across our owned and operated sites, on other high-quality publisher sites across the web, and on millions of desktops, mobile, and connected TV devices. Our mission is to offer the world's most customer-centric advertising. Amazon DSP (ADSP) is Amazon's programmatic advertising product for campaign spanning Display, Video, and Audio across Amazon properties (e.g., , IMDb TV, Twitch, Fire TV, and Amazon Music) and tens of thousands of third-party (3P) websites and apps.

    About the team:

The Bidder team (within Amazon DSP) is an exciting program that is at the heart of the Amazon Ads stack. We own and operates bidding systems and services responsible for assessing and responding to ad opportunities on Owned and Operated properties and 3rd Party Exchanges and Publishers. We are responsible for orchestrating a complete, efficient and effective bid flow to maximize the number of desirable bids. We measure success of advertiser outcomes along key KPIs and bid effectively on behalf of advertisers. Our decisions are grounded in statistics, control feedback loops, and continuous experimentation. We serve and respond to hundreds of billions of requests annually, and have ambitions to grow that number several orders of magnitude, while maintaining response latencies in the milliseconds. We delight in data, and are constantly trying to enrich our models and make more informed decisions using every bit and byte we have.

We are building the next generation of the bidding infrastructure that powers Amazon Advertising. If you are a self-starter, enjoy designing large scale distributed and orchestration systems, and are intrigued by ambiguous problems, look no further.

This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. You must be able to communicate up, down, and out to technical and business leaders. You must be able to successfully drive, architect and build the cloud service based on the vision, anticipate bottlenecks, and balance the business needs against technical constraints. You must be able to take large, complex problems and break them down into manageable micro services, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner. Being a self starter, showing maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.
