Description
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced
National Sales Manager
to oversee and manage all sales activities on a national scale.
This individual will play a critical role in planning, implementing, and executing sales strategies to achieve company objectives across the entire sales network.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand market share nationwide.
Team Management:
Manage and lead a team of area managers, sales representatives, and external service providers to ensure effective execution of sales activities.
Operational Sales Management:
Oversee operational sales functions including managing agents, sales reps, and other sales-related operations.
Retailer Engagement:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key retailers and ensure thorough understanding and utilisation of all retailer portals.
Data Analysis:
Extract, analyse, and utilize data from retailer portals to drive sales strategies, implement improvements, and optimize performance.
Key Account Management:
Work closely with key accounts, providing support and guidance to ensure successful management and growth.
Reporting:
Provide regular and accurate reporting on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to senior management.
Implementation of Initiatives:
Implement initiatives to improve sales processes, optimise resources, and enhance overall sales efficiency and effectiveness.
Training and Development:
Provide training and development opportunities for the sales team to enhance their skills and capabilities.
Budget Management:
Manage sales budgets effectively, monitoring expenses and ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management within the FMCG Foods industry on a national level.
Strong understanding of third-party merchandising companies and experience working with major retailers such as PnP, Spar, Shoprite etc.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel nationally as required.
