A power design engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical systems and components that are used to generate, transmit, distribute, and control electrical power. Their job involves working with various types of power sources, such as generators, solar panels, wind turbines, batteries, and power grids, to ensure efficient and reliable operation. • Plan, conduct, and coordinate various engineering development activities
• Prepare reports and related documents in accordance with internal & external requirements
• Develop and maintain transformer mechanical design manuals, standard Bill of Material structures, and drawing standards
• Demonstrated knowledge in preparing electrical and control schematics
• Generate, review and approve purchase specifications for external equipment, such as transformers, switchgear, converters, harmonic filters
• Develop the relevant engineering deliverables, such as drawings, bill of material, electrical diagrams, application software, equipment purchase specifications, test procedures, technical descriptions and instructions
• Working knowledge to develop and generate control software using PLC based automation equipment for grid connected power conversion systems
• Work closely with the hardware designer to optimize the power delivery network
• Work closely with silicon design team and bring-up lead for the power measurement, characterization, debug and analysis
