Job Description

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A surgical support role is available in Montrose, CO, providing essential assistance to ensure smooth and efficient surgical procedures. This position operates under the guidance of the Department Manager and a qualified professional nurse to meet patient and surgeon needs while maintaining effective communication across medical teams and departments.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in surgical cases, ensuring procedures flow efficiently.
• Prepare operating rooms and supplies according to physician preference cards and aseptic techniques.
• Understand surgical steps and required equipment for each procedure.
• Maintain a sterile field from supply opening through dressing placement.
• Adhere to OR attire policies and assist with patient positioning under RN supervision.
• Perform surgical preps with RN oversight and open sterile supplies as needed.
• Clean and reset the room promptly to minimize turnover time.
• Support sterile processing by pulling supplies and instruments for upcoming cases.
• Update surgeons preference cards with any changes.
• Complete Central Processing Coordinator duties on a rotating basis to maintain sterilization and instrument availability.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Minimum one year of relevant experience.
• Preferred graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (Certified OR Tech) and ability to maintain Colorado state certification.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
