    Description

    Summary:

    The Product Engineer will apply knowledge of product design, product environment, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials to best meet customer requirements.

    The Product Engineer improves upon the performance and design of existing products and overseas production and shipping of final products.

    The Product Engineer will also support sales through quoting and by providing expertise to customers.

    NoneLocation: Berea, OH, Hybrid after 90 daysEssential Functions:

    • Design and modify new and / or existing parts to enhance manufacturability, better meet the customer's needs, and reduce production time.
    • Review quoting opportunities and support the sales team and customers with product expertise.
    • Review contracts and supporting documents ensuring all information is transferred to relevant groups (engineering, quality, production, etc)
    • Communicate with customers on a technical basis regarding design changes, technical information, and to resolve any issues.
    • Perform failure analysis and offer solutions based on findings.
    • Collaborate with vendors to evaluate options and ensure best solution for customer.
    • Manage projects and provide engineering oversight to production during fabrication; answer questions and provide solutions as needed.
    • Occasionally travel to customer sites to support sales and provide technical expertise
    • Establish standards and Best Practices
    • See projects through the shop all the way from design to shippingRequirements
    • BS in Engineering, or similar education combined with experience, will be required. Mechanical Engineering preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Engineering in a steel manufacturing environment; exposure to ASME or AWS code work a plus
    • History with working with stainless steel or nickel alloys, a plus.
    • Experience in designing products and / or product improvements.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing practices like forming, welding, and cutting
    • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
    • Proficient with technology, especially use of ERP software, Microsoft Office, and 3D Modeling software (SolidWorks preferred).
    • Can use formulas, research, and reasoning to solve complex problems
    • Multitasking with a strong attention to detail and able to meet deadlines on multiple projects.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Capable of working independently and with similar or cross functional teams.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Project Management principals and application.
    • Working knowledge of Lean and Continuous Improvement.
    • Root Cause and Corrective Action training preferred.
    • Desire to learn, grow, and advance within the organization.
