    Physical Therapist (PT)

    Location: Alturas, CA

    Position Type: Contract (Traveler Coverage)

    Pay: Up to $2,725 per week

    Are you a versatile Physical Therapist who enjoys variety in your workday and the peace of a rural setting? We are seeking a flexible, team-oriented PT to join a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) in a beautiful, remote Northern California community. This role offers the unique opportunity to work across outpatient, acute care, and skilled nursing settings, providing comprehensive care to a tight-knit population.

    Schedule & Shift Details

    • Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Includes a 1-hour lunch break).
    • Commitment: 40 hours per week (36 hours guaranteed).
    • Work-Life Balance: No weekends, no on-call, and no holidays required.

    Position Overview

    • Settings: Primarily Outpatient (OP), with additional coverage for an 8-bed Acute Care unit and a 50-bed affiliated Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
    • Caseload: Low-acuity focus (shoulders, wrists, etc.). No high-end cardiac or spinal cord injury cases.
    • Scope of Care: Modalities, therapeutic exercise, soft tissue mobilization, gait training, neuromuscular re-education, orthotic/prosthetic training, and taping.
    • Environment: A small-town facility where being a "flexible team player" is the top priority for the department lead.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide high-quality physical therapy across multiple settings (OP, Acute, SNF).
    • Develop and implement restorative programs within the skilled nursing environment.
    • Collaborate closely with a small, dedicated healthcare team to ensure patient continuity.
    • Maintain the flexibility to transition between departments based on daily patient needs.

    Required Qualifications

    • Licensure: Current California State PT License (Required).
    • Certification: BLS Certification (Required).
    • Experience: Previous experience in Outpatient PT, Acute Care/Rehab, or Skilled Nursing.

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience Level: 5 years of clinical experience is preferred, though we are open to discussing the role with motivated clinicians with less experience.
    • Specialized Knowledge: Background in restorative program development is highly desired.
