Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Are you looking to advance your career and grow with an awesome organization? We currently have a DSP position available to help you achieve this goal The Direct Support Professional is responsible for a variety of duties related to the overall care of individuals with developmental disabilities who reside in Angelwood's residential group homes and attend the adult day training program. This includes direct care of program individuals and implementation of Individual Program Plans (IPP) and behavior plans (BP). Direct Support Professionals are required to perform all duties in accordance with State of Florida's regulations and Angelwood's policies and procedures. The primary responsibilities include assisting with self-care and daily living activities, assisting individuals in the pursuit of recreational, social and community activities, and safely transporting people to participate in meaningful day activities.

There are full-time and part-time positions available. The DSP reports to the Program Director. The successful candidate must have proven client focus, communication and teamwork skills.

Requirements:

At least one year of experience providing care or support to individuals in a healthcare, education, social services, childcare, or similar fields where interpersonal care and responsibility are central.
High School Diploma or equivalency
Be at least 18 years of age
Have a valid Florida Driver's license
Pass Background check
Complete and pass the Medication Administration Validation process, Professional Crisis Management and CPR
