Join Texas Health Human Services Commission HHSC as Budget Analyst Accountant II in Grand Prairie TX US Job Summary We are seeking experienced accounting professional to join our team as Budget Analyst Accountant II This role will perform routine journey level accounts payable tasks serves as functional specialist for Regional Accounting Office Works under general supervision with limited latitude for use initiative independent judgment Audits work others accuracy ensures corrections made timely manner Develops evaluates presents creative solutions unit business accounting needs problems Uses knowledge Health Human Services HHS Procurement policy make decisions proper payment methods Serves first line contact State Office Accounting Budget Purchasing Asset Management vendors individuals providers other state agencies Assists external internal customers understanding Accounts Payable rules regulations Work involves researching resolving discrepancies analyzing processing accounting transactions Provides backup coverage unit Documents shares needs customers may assist additional tasks meet those needs
Responsibilities
- Receives invoices prepares purchase vouchers payment goods services CAPPS Financials Ensures valid purchase order encumbered purchases contract leases janitorial contracted services processed payment Timely payment invoices avoid assessments interest payments coordinates follow Business Services obtain appropriate CAPPS receiving reports verification services received Monitors contract purchase orders ensure expense amount does not exceed contracted amount Runs Voucher Aging Report Follows up vendors request invoices outstanding accounts payable Resolves payment discrepancies answers inquiries staff vendors central office 50 Serv Super User backup Super User purchasing process tracking requisitions Retrieves pre requisition forms regional purchasing box assigns department ID account origin code bill codes Enters information CAPPS Financials obtains necessary approvals retrieve requisition number start procurement process Communicates follows PCS ensure purchase order numbers assigned purchase correct complete 15 Assist management TX Smart Buy office supply lists internal workbooks Compiles analyzes information expenses data develop prepare financial statistical reports used Regional Financial Services Manager monitor regional budget expenditures make budget projections Processes accounts receivable receives checks vendors providers preparing receipt credit appropriate dept ID budget period 5
