    JK Executive Strategies is proud to partner with a well-respected community health center in search of its next Chief Operating Officer


    Under the direction of the CEO, the COO ensures the optimal function of the health centers operations to improve quality, efficiency, customer and employee satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term financial viability.

    In addition, this candidate ensures organizational strategic initiatives are carried out through daily activities.

    Responsibilities

    Collaborates with the CEO, CMO, CFO, and other senior management members to lead the development and execution of the health centers mission, vision, values, annual operating budget, and strategic plan.

    Plays a key role in the organization's succession planning policy, stepping in for the CEO when necessary.

    Assists in defining comprehensive organizational goals aligned with operational and strategic initiatives, supporting senior leadership and department managers in goal setting, workflows, reporting, and accountability.

    Works closely with the CEO and Human Resources Director to establish, uphold, and account for policies and procedures that align with the health centers mission, vision, values, goals, and objectives.

    Supervises general operations encompassing health information, patient access, quality improvement, clinical support functions, and facilities.
    Acts as the Health Center Privacy and Security Officer.

    Develops, implements, and revises organizational policies and procedures to ensure quality, safety, and standardized workflows across all sites within the CHC scope of services.

    Collaborates with management at all levels to ensure current and systematic implementation of organizational policies and procedures, potentially working with individual departments to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and cultivate a positive culture.

    Oversees Quality Improvement activities and contributes to the Quality Improvement Committee, emphasizing data-driven, lean process improvement.

    Ensures compliance with DPH, HRSA, PCMH, and other accrediting bodies' standards regarding access, quality, safety, environment, and infection prevention and control, serving as the second-in-command for incident and mandatory reporting.

    Enhances the functionality of health center patient registration, scheduling, check-in, and check-out processes to enhance patient access to care and revenue generation.

    Supports the CEO in all administrative operations, including contract negotiation, evaluation, and vendor service coordination and assessment.

    Collaborates with Human Resources and the C-Suite team to develop and implement training plans aimed at optimizing health center performance.

    Assists in developing emergency/continuity of operations and communication plans and implements health service/program plans through a coordinated, documented, and multidisciplinary approach.

    Acts as the primary administrative contact for department managers.

    Works closely with the CEO, CMO, and Chief Clinical Services Officer in program development and implementation, including site and service expansions, capital projects, and renovations as directed.

    Participates in organizational fundraising, community education, and other advancement activities as required.
    Performs additional duties and responsibilities as needed.

    Organizational Duties
    Supports all departments/clinics in striving for excellence in primary patient care.
    Assists in fulfilling grant obligations by creating and providing reports as necessary.
    Identifies and addresses physical plant issues and concerns across all clinic sites.
    Conducts internal quality site reviews to maintain standards.
    Develop and implement policies and procedures as needed.
    Leads or participates in Marketing/Development efforts aligned with health center objectives.
    Contributes to the growth and sustainability of CHC/CC by implementing health center business and health plans.
    Reviews monthly statistical reports and monitors clinic productivity.
    Facilitates frequent communication with staff to address workload, questions, and concerns, and encourages open sharing of opinions.
    Assists with financial oversight for the organization.
    Demonstrates knowledge of group dynamics to lead and motivate team members.
    Ensures health center and staff compliance with CHC/CC policies, HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
    Utilizes leadership skills to enhance staff efficiency and morale.
    Utilizes resources effectively to meet organizational and patient needs.
    Supports the Board of Directors requests by implementing policies and new programs.

    Public Relations
    Attends and assists in public relations efforts for all related communities/counties.
    Attends and participates in/on community/county committees and advisory boards as requested.

    Personal Management
    Handles employee grievances and communicates with department supervisors.
    Interviews and provides input regarding hiring health center staff; assessment of staff workloads, recommends additional staff when applicable.
    Reviews time sheets for accuracy and approves and submits time sheets promptly.

    Customer Service
    Screens patient complaints and satisfaction surveys and informs the CEO of all patient complaints and trends.
    Sets the example of exemplary customer service for both internal and external customers.
    Has general knowledge of services CHC/CC clinic sites offer.
    Constantly alert for ways to improve customer service and the CHC/CC.

    Quality Management
    Attends training seminars, conferences, and meetings as necessary
    Participates in quality improvement committee
    Adheres to policy regarding incident forms and/or patient complaints
    Ensures compliance with HIPAA, OSHA & other regulatory agencies

    Requirements
    ~ Masters Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
    ~5+ years of experience in management/operations within a healthcare environment preferred.
    ~ Proficiency in identifying potential risks and effectively responding and reporting as needed.
    ~ Commitment to attending all required staff meetings, in-services, and professional training.
    ~ Willingness to participate in quality assessment and improvement activities as requested.
    ~ Maintenance of professional competence necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
    ~ Demonstrated adherence to compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
    ~ Proven ability to manage time efficiently and complete multiple tasks in an environment with competing priorities.
    ~ Flexibility in responding to change and willingness to take accountability for assigned work.
    ~ Proficiency in utilizing computer systems and programs such as Microsoft Office, Paycom, etc.

    Salary Range
    ~$180k - $220k
