    The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (CBE) at the University of Delaware invites applications for a tenure-track, open-rank Professor position. The University of Delaware combines a rich history in engineering with a commitment to both undergraduate and graduate education and scholarly excellence. Supported by state-of-the-art facilities, research is conducted across all eight colleges and numerous interdisciplinary institutes and centers. The main campus in Newark, Delaware, provides the amenities of a vibrant college town with convenient access to the major cities of the East Coast. CBE at the University of Delaware is located in the renowned Alan Colburn Lab, the 194,000-square-foot state-of-the-art Harker Lab, and the newly opened 228,000-square-foot Ammon Pinizzotto Biopharmaceutical (known as "A.P. Bio") Lab on the 272-Acre Science, Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) campus. The STAR campus boasts world-class research and teaching facilities and offers rich prospects for academic and commercial collaborations.

    REQUIREMENTS: Ph.D. or equivalent in chemical engineering or a related field.

    DUTIES: The successful candidate will be expected to develop and lead a vigorous and nationally recognized research program; teach and advise students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; and participate in and contribute to the departmental and larger professional communities. While applications in all research areas will be considered, we particularly seek applicants with expertise in catalysis and reaction engineering, process systems engineering, and/or soft materials and polymers.

    We look for candidates who will contribute, through high-quality research and teaching, to the continued improvement of our department's national standing and visibility. For several decades, our graduate program has consistently ranked among the top ten in the country in chemical engineering. Our undergraduate program earned the second position in the nation according to the recent U.S. News & World Report rankings. Notably, Forbes has recognized the University of Delaware for its highest annual R&D expenditures among all chemical engineering programs in the nation. Our ongoing research endeavors span diverse areas of chemical engineering science, encompassing catalysis and reaction engineering, process systems engineering, energy, soft matter, biomolecular engineering, thermodynamics, and transport phenomena, and have been at the forefront of innovation in these domains.
