    Charles Schwab's Digital Retail Operations team builds key experiences for clients and maintains digital channels for them to build their wealth and manage their financial outcomes.

    This includes maintaining representative facing solutions to foster relationships with clients.

    We are responsible for defining, delivering, and optimizing the client-facing and advisor-facing digital experiences with the right targeted client experience across channels and business lines.

    We work, think and approach problems differently than your traditional financial services firm, and we drive to change both how Schwab operates and how the industry serves investors and advisors.

    We collaborate across user experience, product, client service, operations, and technology teams across the enterprise to build products clients love.


    In this role, you will drive the creation, refinement, and evolution of business planning processes and governance for retail digital channels and experiences.

    The Sr Manager, Accessability Design Lead will:

    • Lead accessibility audits / QA reviews to identify accessibility barriers, supporting issue remediation with members of Digital Retail, UX/Design, and technology
    • Provide guidance and support to developers, designers, and content creators on accessibility best practices
    • Monitor and evaluate emerging web accessibility technologies and standards
    • Support the creation and execution of accessibility requirements for web and mobile experiences
    • Create and conduct training sessions on web accessibility for internal teams
    • Prepare and maintain documentation on accessibility guidelines and policies
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate accessibility into product development and content creation processes
    • Build trusted relationships through clear and consistent communication with business, product, design, and technical stakeholders

    What you are good at:

    • Accessibility SME - Detailed knowledge of industry standards around digital accessibility across a variety of channels (web, mobile, etc.)
    • QA & Regulatory Work - Experience leading detailed accessibility audits and QA reviews to help identify potential barriers and support remediation.
    • Cross-Team Coordination - Experience leading and successfully coordinating complex, high priority, enterprise initiatives in large matrixed organizations.
    • Governance & Process - Experience defining and enabling regulatory, compliance, and/or accessibility requirements. This includes the creation of a library of artifacts and processes used as the blueprint for executing work in the channels and experiences.

    Requirements:


    • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related technical discipline, and/or equivalent work experience in digital product disciplines (minimum 6 years)
    • Minimum 3 years' experience in accessibility, with strong understanding of WCAG 2.2 guidelines and ADA compliance
    • Prior experience leading user experience (UX) design and usability testing with a focus on accessibility
    • Prior experience with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
    • Prior experience in using accessibility testing tools (axe DevTools or similar)
    • Familiarity with Assistive Technology such as screen readers, switch access, voice control
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop workable solutions and execute within a cross functional team by influencing appropriately
    • Ability to engage with variety of stakeholders (business, product, design/UX, and technology) to define requirements and determine the best approach to implement technical solutions
    • Comfortable communicating with all levels in the organization, including senior executives, business leads, architects, etc.
    • Servant Leadership - Able to garner respect from team members, stakeholders, and partner groups through commitment to team success and willingness to roll up sleeves to get the job done

    Requirements:


    • Certification in web accessibility (e.g., IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies or IAAP Certified Web Accessibility Specialist)
    • Knowledge of WAI-ARIA standards and authoring practices
    • Familiarity with a range of mobile development technologies and working within iOS and Android development environments
    • Experience leading accessibility trainings for large stakeholder groups
    • Experience supporting enterprise regulatory, compliance or accessibility efforts
    • Familiarity with range of development workflow and documentation tools (JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, etc.)
