    What You Will Do:

    • Responsible for management, packaging, inventory, and disposition of all waste generated by the Building 251 DD&R Project in accordance with the project Waste Management Plan, Radioactive Waste Management Basis, and supporting plans
    • Coordinate waste management and disposition activities with LLNS to meet the appropriate waste acceptance for approved disposition/disposal options.
    • Manage activities associated with profiling, packaging, handling, and hauling/transportation of waste to various facilities, including the transport to off-site and on-site treatment and/or storage facilities and off-site disposal facilities.
    • Provide technical input into waste characterization documentation and calculations.
    • Maintain inventory of waste materials and packaging onsite and en route to/from the site.
    • Prepare a daily report of activities
    • Participate in meetings as needed with LLNS and Department of Energy personnel.

    Additional responsibilities for the Waste Support Manager and Subcontractor staff prior to mobilization include the following:

    • Review available characterization data provided by LLNS
    • Review plans prepared by Contractor
    • Participation in teleconferences with LLNS and Contractor
    • Support project baselining and estimating effort
    • Provide input into project waste transportation and disposal approach
    • One to two onsite meetings prior to full mobilization
    • Additional onsite positions may include Waste Broker (Shipper) and Waste Technicians. These positions may be required to support the Waste Support Manager during onsite activities and waste shipping campaigns.
    • Subcontractor will also provide turn-key services for waste packaging, transportation, and disposal. Activities for this scope will be defined as part of the project baseline and will be addressed in a future contract modification.

    What You Need (Minimum Requirements)

    • Experience performing Radiological Waste Characterization at a DOE NNSA National Laboratory, preferably at LLNL
    • Experience working with Energy Solutions preferred
    • LLW Non-Hazardous Waste Expertise
    • Waste Certification Official Experience
    • Candidates considered for hire, after receiving an offer, must pass a federal background and federal drug test before beginning their work assignment. Refusal to submit to drug testing or not passing the drug test will result in disqualification of further employment consideration.
