Position Title: Clerk-Receptionist - Main Office of Middle School
Reports To: Principal
Primary Function:
Assures the smooth and efficient operation of the assigned office in a friendly and professional manner. Receives the public, operates the telephone system, serves as a key communicator and coordinator relating to essential operation of the office. Performs other clerical duties as needed.
Requirements:
Educational Level: High School Diploma or equivalent. Formal training in office practices and experience preferred.
Proficiency Skills: Written and oral communication skills, ability to operate office machinery and deal with multiple tasks, computer competence, typing and proof reading skills.
Personal Skills: Pleasant personality, cooperative attitude, physical skills and stamina to perform essential duties.
Salary: CCSS Classified Salary Schedule- A08 (Startpay $12.87- max pay $21.06) Steps awarded with verifiable experience, 210 scheduled work days
GENERAL
1.Maintains a pattern of prompt and regular attendance.
2.Ensures primary workstation and responsibilities are covered at all times during the working day.

29.Arranges for mail/package pick up and dissemination daily and periodically during the holidays.
30.Prepares and processes purchase orders and work orders as needed.
31.Assists in maintaining daily attendance logs for teachers, substitutes and other school employees as directed by the principal.
32.Seeks and maintains appropriate training and skills in all operations of the Student Information System; acts as backup for SIS.
33.Maintains the skills to keep payroll records as required by the central office.
34.Maintains the skills to serve as back-up bookkeeper.
35.Serves as liaison to the central office in the handling of insurance matters, workers compensation claims, etc.
36.Directs callers and visitors to the appropriate personnel and provides general information when requested.
37.Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
