- Knowledge of steelhead ecology, as demonstrated though research experience with this species culminating in written research products
- Ability to communicate across a wide range of technical competencies, as demonstrated with experience advising undergraduates and coordinating with professional researchers and managers
- Mastery of R programming, as demonstrated with the production of large (>1000 lines) scripts written without assistance
- Mastery of Bayesian data analysis, as demonstrated through graduate-level education and application to novel research questions
- Familiarity with Cormack-Jolly-Seber models, as demonstrated through graduate-level education or application to novel research questions
- Mastery of hierarchical models and/or mixed effects models, as demonstrated through graduate-level education and application to novel research questions Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

In consultation with Dr. Falcy, incumbent will develop relationships with fisheries managers to refine and develop, implement, and communicate sophisticated models of steelhead survival. Incumbent will contribute to the intellectual atmosphere of the Fish and Wildlife Sciences Department by working in an office setting, participating in the lab group meetings, and offering statistical and R consulting services to graduate students. Position Overview Performs research activities and analysis; implements and evaluates research procedures and data. Records observations and measurements then reports results. Responsible for analyzing and preparing results for publication. Works under general supervision with a certain degree of creativity and latitude.
