    Overview

    The Compliance Specialist II serves a central role in assisting in the development and implementation of the organization's Corporate Compliance program as determined by the Chief Compliance Officer. This position will take on various tasks within the Corporate Compliance Department, working with various teams therein, as needed to help the organization achieve compliance with governmental healthcare laws and regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for using existing, or developing new, broad scope compliance knowledge depth and breadth.

    Responsibility
    1. Each employee's specific job responsibilities are uniquely defined by their individual training plan and assigned duties, but are generally defined as follows:
    2. Based on then-current needs, assist on both routine and special projects needing additional resources on either a short-term or long-term basis.
    3. Assume specific administrative and operational duties as assigned that generally support the Department.
    4. Create initial policy drafts, procedures, work instructions, training, and other documents related to the Corporate Compliance program. This may involve any or all the seven elements of an effective compliance program.
    5. Conduct topic-specific compliance research and produce cogent reports and actionable results.
    6. Assist the department in ensuring that compliance related processes are identified, created, implemented, maintained, and improved.
    7. Assist in establishing and executing processes to audit, monitor, detect, and enforce the compliance program.
    8. Develop and deliver training programs regarding compliance-related regulatory requirements for workforce members.
    9. Develop specific expertise in one or more operational areas/processes and be the day-to-day lead for that function, including answering questions, solving problems, completing the routine maintenance work, etc.
    10. Additional duties as assigned.
    Qualifications
    1. Bachelor's Degree required.
    2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare compliance or a closely related field.
    3. Experience with auditing, monitoring, drafting internal documentation, financial transactions, investigations, and/or similar standard compliance functions greatly preferred.
    4. Knowledge and understanding of healthcare compliance and regulatory elements involving federal (CMS, OIG, FCPA, FDA, etc.) and state requirements.
    5. Ability to interact positively within all levels of staff.
    6. Ability to work independently, change priorities, learn new topics and processes, and take on varied assignments.
    7. Excellent attention to detail, follow through, and written and verbal communication skills.
    Physical Requirements

    Lifting Requirements - light work or exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical Requirements - stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, observing, pushing or pulling, and reaching. Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions.
