$90k - $140k depending on experience
Structural Engineer - Senior Level
Columbia Energy and Environmental Services, an established small business headquartered in Richland, WA, which offers full-service engineering, design, fabrication, instrumentation and controls, and technology development.
Columbia Energy is seeking engineers interested in advancing their career with opportunities to serve as design engineers on design/build/test projects, technical leads, project engineers, and project managers.
Responsibilities/Duties
will include:
Identify, evaluate, and test unique design solutions for projects involved in: nuclear and hazardous waste remediation; equipment installation and support, chemical processing; and commercial development
Conduct design analysis to established codes and standards (e.g., AISC, ASCE, etc.)
Ability to work safely in office and shop environments and have a safety focus in all aspects of assigned roles
Design of lifting fixtures and tooling to support fabrication
Perform structural calculations to verify equipment design and installations meet contract specified load combinations and criteria
Provide support to multiple simultaneous projects and project teams
Work with designers to produce detail design drawings
Generate test plans/procedures and support system testing
Maintenance of configuration and control of baseline drawings and documents
Ability to effectively communicate task status, progress, technical issues, and meet project deadlines
Review projects and ensure compliance with basic design
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET accredited university
Preferred Qualifications & Attributes
Registered Professional Engineer
Experienced with IBC, AISC, ACI standards and how to apply them
DOE experience
Proficient using FEA software such as Ansys, Risa3D
Self-starter with the ability to focus on project needs and delivery schedules
Ability to plan work activities and estimate durations for completing assigned tasks
Demonstrated ability to produce design deliverables
Ability to work with others in a team environment
Attention to detail and pride of ownership
Willingness to take on new challenges and learn new skills while contributing to project teams
