    Purpose
    Directs and leads the day-to-day and month-end close accounting responsibilities. Works collaboratively with functional business areas to accurately report and manage operational costs that support key business objectives. Responsible for the accuracy of the financial statements in accordance with company accounting policies.

    Develops and drives strategic decisions to maximize operational efficiencies through process and talent development along with full leverage of existing and new system technologies.

    Provides professional accounting and financial leadership and analysis support.
    Responsibilities
    Manages day-to-day accounting operations through month-end close for assigned accounting functions
    Oversees the preparation and approval of account reconciliations and journal entries and manage monthly and quarterly reporting requirements
    Prepares and/or reviews various analyses to identify unusual activity and ensure transactions are properly accounted for, including account variance analyses, balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analyses
    Builds and manages a high performing team that maintains a strong "client service" focus and culture and prioritizes talent development and succession planning across all accounting functions
    Responsible for successful implementation of on-going process improvement initiatives, including shaping best practices, tool enhancements and driving an effective control environment
    Identifies and removes sources of resistance by acting as a liaison across organizational boundaries
    Identifies opportunities across other functional areas to support process efficiency and automation opportunities that could be integrated into Accounting organization
    Recognizes changing demands and priorities and redirects team regarding operational priorities while making progress toward overall goals and priorities
    Resolves issues and removes roadblocks for teams to achieve results
    Communicates and collaborates regularly with senior leadership regarding needs and direction services are being provided and related matters
    Operates with the highest of ethics and integrity such that the reliance upon the Company's financial results or operating practices are not questioned
    Monitors and improves internal control environment to more efficiently monitor transaction risk and financial exposure
    Maintain and promote policies and procedures incorporating SOX controls, corporate policies and procedures and related regulatory and GAAP requirements
    About You
    Bachelor's Degree required in Accounting or other related field, or an equivalent amount of experience required
    CPA and/or MBA preferred
    5-7+ years of progressive management experience in accounting roles
    Strong understanding of US GAAP and SOX required; "Big 4" or other national public accounting experience is highly valued, but not required
    Retail industry experience preferred
    Able to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
    Innovative team player; self-motivated and able to work on cross-functional teams
    Able to provide critical feedback and have difficult conversations in a fair, respectful, and honest manner
    Strong attention to detail; able to organize, prioritize, and delegate multi-task responsibilities both individually and for the team
    Proven experience leading large, multi-level teams
    Working knowledge of Oracle or another enterprise-class ERP system required
    Physical Requirements
    Ability to travel up to ~10% of the time, which may include weekends and evenings, as needed.
    Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled environment
    Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal
    Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday
    Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
