    As the Director of Advocacy Marketing Communications, you will:

    • Serve as the chief communications and marketing advisor to the Vice President of Government Affairs, crafting a strategy that propels WWP's advocacy initiatives.
    • Develop a thought leadership strategy that engages policymakers, experts, and partners to increase awareness of critical issues affecting veterans.
    • Work with marketing and organizational leaders to align advocacy communications with our overall brand goals.
    • Build and lead a high-performing team and oversee external agency collaborations to achieve measurable outcomes.
    • Manage budgeting and resource allocation, utilizing data insights to optimize strategy and demonstrate ROI.
    • Establish and nurture relationships with media, influencers, and other organizations to elevate WWP's profile and credibility.
    • Ensure brand consistency in all advocacy communications and collaborate on events that highlight WWP's priorities.
    • Represent WWP at significant events as needed, including after hours.
    • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices to continuously refine our strategies.

    The ideal candidate will:

    • Be a highly motivated leader passionate about improving the lives of post-9/11 veterans.
    • Have proven experience influencing decision-makers and driving successful strategic initiatives.
    • Demonstrate strong leadership skills, with a history of managing diverse stakeholders.
    • Possess excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas with clarity and persuasion.
    • Understand marketing and communications practices and tools.

    Requirements:

    • Eight years of experience in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing.
    • Five years of experience in advocacy or legislative affairs.
    • Five years of leadership experience.

    Preferences:

    • Military experience
    • Experience in the nonprofit or veteran services sectors

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, political science, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience are acceptable.

    Your commitment to our mission can transform veterans' lives. Here at Wounded Warrior Project, we offer a salary range of $166,924 to $208,656, depending on your experience and qualifications. In addition, you can anticipate a robust benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and more.
