Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing loading crew, loading, transporting, and unloading of household goods safely and efficiently from customers homes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to load and unload household items. The Local Driver will operate 26 foot box trucks, ensuring timely delivery while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. Starting pay based on license type.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles including box truck on local routes.
- Load and unload household items, ensuring proper handling of all materials.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes taken, and deliveries made when required.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transport.
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safe driving practices.
- Manage manual transmission vehicles when necessary.
Experience
- Proven experience in truck driving is preferred.
- Experience with loading/unloading household goods preferred.
- Ability to navigate local routes effectively while adhering to time schedules.
- Ability to lift and carry furniture and boxes daily.
- Must be able to criminal background check
