Description
**Description:**
Metal manufacturer is searching for a 1st shift Set Up Technician for the multiple types of press machines on the manufacturing floor. There is a combination of Restrike Presses and Progressive Presses (automatically coil-fed presses that are more difficult to set up). The presses vary in size - 200T to 400T is the biggest.
Hours:
1st shift: 6AM to 2:30PM Monday through Friday
Pay:
$18 to $24
Job Duties:
Setting up of automatic and stationary presses
Prepping to insert the die
-- Wiping down upper ram and lower bolster plate to clear area of slugs and debris
-- Measuring/adjusting the ram
Mounting the upper/lower die
-- Centering the die on the press bed
-- Use clamps to lock in the lower die
Setting up coil feeder and automatic feeder (if not a stationary restrike press)
-- Loosen/open edge guides, rollers, cradle walls, etc.
-- Load coil into the cradle and inserting retaining bolt
Coil feed sensor set up
-- Adjusting feeders as necessary
First hit, part feed, and checking the part to ensure the part meets spec
-- Ensure holes are pierced
-- Single stroke press until material feeds are right
-- Adjusting ram bolt to begin production
Setting progressive dies
Guiding press operators on processes for new parts
When not setting up, may be needed in the toolroom to manually machine
