This is an integrated R&D, development and manufacture company using state of the art systems for a pioneering product in the medical device industry.
Group Info: Be part of the R&D, Engineering and Manufacturing Development team of 10 technical people. This role will report to the Director – Manufacturing Engineering.
Note 1: The right person will have experience designing small micro sized assemblies' enclosures fixtures etc. Candidates with design of large equipment, systems, sheet metals parts etc, will not be considered
Summary:
● Need a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer for Product Development - Hardware.
● This Engineer directly supports R&D Engineering and Manufacturing Development with the committed goal of filling the product pipeline.
● The primary responsibilities of the position include conceptual development through design and build completion of mechanical parts and assemblies and injected molded parts and assemblies , based upon specific requirements and practical design considerations.
● You will have the opportunity to work on state-of-the-art equipment.
Job Description:
● Follows and implements Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Product Development and Automation initiative.
● Works independently and within teams developing solutions, researching available technology, selecting components, and developing and finalizing results to mechanical design and injected molded part design challenges.
● Supports governmental requirements relating to the development and manufacturing of medical devices.
● Checking models and drawings created by other CAD software users
● Independently performs or coordinates work assignments based on priorities including scheduling, documentation and review, and allocation of resources.
● Successfully communicates needed technical information that meets business and team objectives.
Competencies
● Can create or be given a concept and develop physical prototypes.
● Detailed understanding of a wide array of fabrication/manufacturing processes is required, how they may form design constraints, and how they can be utilized to enhance functionality and cost.
● Expert at balancing form, fit, function, and DFM.
● Highly competent in the creation of Manufacturing Fixtures for Manual, Automation, and Robotic cells.
● Expert use of SolidWorks Computer Aided Design (CAD) software required to produce three-dimensional models and technical drawings.
● Knowledge of standard tolerancing and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) is required.
● Possesses solid mathematical and problem-solving skills.
