    Description
    • Responsible for the maintenance and repair of electrical and electro-mechanical systems of vessels
    • Able to read, interpret, and understand simple schematics and blueprints
    • Participate in the installation, maintenance and repair of AC and DC generators, switchboards, distribution panels, lighting, and alarm circuits
    • Troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical and electronic equipment and cables
    • Adjust/Align or replace components of motors, generators, and alternators such as bearings, centrifugal switches, and brushes
    • Removal and installation of cables found overhead, along a bulk-wall, or underneath deck - cable runs may range from a few feet to more than a thousand feet
    • Assistance during the cable runs varies according to the cable size, length of the run, and physical difficulty
    • Must be able to climb up and down vertical ladders, bend, squat, kneel and work in confined spaces
