    Slab Plumbing / Working Foreman

    Quan Services is growing again and is looking to hire an experienced Slab Foreman. If you are not making $100k+ a year with your current company and looking to for a change, then this is the job for you.

    This position will be responsible for underground plumbing for new homes and townhomes. Facilitates installing, repair, and maintain pipes used for water distribution and wastewater disposal. Aids plumbers and pipefitters with repairing and maintaining pipes. They also prepare the work area and make it possible for plumbers and pipefitters to do work in shorter periods with fewer errors. Also, for responsible for measuring and cutting new pipes and assists with pipe removal, review blueprints, and maintain a working knowledge of worksite safety protocols.

    PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO)

    • Assist in installing and maintaining plumbing systems.
    • Read blueprints and drawings to determine exact specifications and where plumbing system will be installed.
    • Determine water supply networks and waste drainage systems.
    • Coordinate with project manager on installation.
    • Install systems used to transport water, waste, gases, or liquids.
    • Select all materials needed for installation, including type and size of pipe.
    • Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures and equipment.
    • Assemble and install valves and fittings.
    • Observe pressure gauges to fix leaks.
    • Test pipe systems and fix leaks.
    • Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported and grade.
    • Experience reading drawings.
    • Extensive knowledge of installing and maintaining all plumbing systems.
    • Safe working knowledge of all hand power tools.
    • Safely work from ladders for extended periods of time.
    • Measure, cut and assemble new pipe, placing the assembled pipe in hangers or other supports.
    • Cut or drill holes in walls or floors to accommodate the passage of pipes.
    • Perform rough-ins, repair and replace fixtures and water heaters, and locate, repair, or remove leaking or broken pipes.
    • Assist plumbers in the layout, assembly, and installation of fixtures and materials.
    • Requisition tools and equipment select type and size of pipe and collect and transport materials and equipment to work site.
    • Excavate and grade ditches and lay and join pipe for water and sewer service.
    • Disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

    • High school graduation or other equivalent (i.e., GED, college, technical or trade school transcript, foreign equivalency, etc.).
    • Have basic knowledge of tools and plumbing materials, including knowledge of fitting sizes and types of piping.
    • Motivated and works well with others.
    • OSHA10 preferred.
    • Willingness to embrace change in a growing company.

Must be able to climb, reach above shoulder height, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl frequently. The position occasionally may require lifting heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
    • Individuals may occasionally be exposed to hazardous conditions, high places and /or hazardous equipment.
    • May work with or around chemicals that require knowledge of a safety data sheet.
    • This position requires working in an outdoors environment.
    • Individuals may be exposed to varying temperatures including very hot (above 90 degrees F) or very cold (below 32 degrees F) and all-weather conditions.
    • Individuals may be exposed to cramped workspaces, contaminants, extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
