    The Opportunity: We are looking for a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis. This role requires 40 hours per week, including some evening shifts and rotating weekends. The compensation for this position ranges from $18.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending on years of experience and duties.

    Responsibilities: As a Certified Medical Assistant at Vanguard Medical Group, you will be an essential part of our patient-centered care team. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Patient Preparation: Ensure that examination rooms are well-prepared with instruments, supplies, and equipment. Verify patient information, review medical history, and record vital signs.
    • Assisting Providers: Support healthcare providers in patient care, from preparing laboratory specimens to administering medications, and performing basic laboratory tests on-site.
    • Educating Patients: Provide patients with medication and diet information, answering their questions to ensure they understand their healthcare plans.
    • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate medical records by documenting patient examinations, treatments, and test results.
    • Billing and Referrals: Handle billing information, insurance forms, and referrals to specialists, ensuring a smooth process for patients.
    • Supply Management: Keep supplies well-stocked by monitoring inventory, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
    • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain medical equipment in good condition, perform preventive maintenance, and coordinate repairs when needed.
    • Patient Confidentiality: Safeguard patient care information, maintaining their confidence and protecting operations.
    • Continual Learning: Stay updated with the latest industry knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and engaging in professional organizations.
    • Communication: Effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and providers in a professional manner.
    • Rooming Patients: Demonstrate competency in rooming patients, measuring vital signs, obtaining medical history, and recording information in the EMR system.
    • Procedure Assistance: Assist providers in various medical procedures, from minor surgery to specialized exams.
    • Problem Solving: Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills in a clinical setting.

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Accredited Medical Assistant Program degree
    • Current/active CMA, CCMA, or RMA certification or ability to obtain within 90 days from the date of hire
    • 1-2 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
    • Working knowledge of Athena or an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system preferred
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and telephone skills
