ASM/Service Writer - Automotive Dealership

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused ASM (Assistant Service Manager)/Service Writer to join our service team. This role bridges the gap between customers and the service department, ensuring excellent customer service and efficient workflow management.
Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries and concerns regarding vehicle service.
• Schedule service appointments and maintain an organized workflow for the service department.
• Accurately document customer concerns, vehicle issues, and required services in repair orders.
• Communicate effectively with technicians to ensure accurate diagnosis and timely service completion.
• Provide detailed estimates of service costs and obtain customer authorization for repairs.
• Keep customers updated on service progress, any additional recommended repairs, and timeline changes.
• Review completed work orders and explain services performed to customers at the time of vehicle pickup.
• Promote and upsell recommended maintenance services to enhance customer satisfaction and dealership profitability.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and professional service area.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Service Writer, ASM, or similar role in an automotive service environment.
• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair processes.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to explain technical details in a clear manner.
• Proficiency in dealership management systems and service scheduling software.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus.
