    Job DescriptionOur client, a world leader in Pharmaceuticals & In vitro diagnostics (IVD), is looking for a "Clinical Laboratory Assistant"

    Job Type:
    Long-term Contract (Possibility Of Further Extension)

    Location:
    Tucson, AZ (Oro Valley)

    Note:
    A 3-month contract role designed for college students on summer breakCompany Benefits include:

    401k (with 2% employer match)Responsibilities:

    • Performs laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses according to standard operating procedures
    • Performs, reviews, and documents laboratory quality control procedures
    • Operates and maintains laboratory equipment
    • Prepares reagents required for laboratory testing
    • Assesses, prioritizes, and batches samples for processing based on test, study, and turn-around time
    • Completes training and maintain ongoing competency in all procedures performed in the clinical laboratory. Completes 12 Continuing Education Units annually to maintain compliance with applicable state regulations
    • Documents laboratory quality observations and escalates issues to CLSs or supervisors as needed

    Performs testing procedures for research studiesSkill & Experience:

    • Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, such as word processing and laboratory information systems
    • Ability to work a designated schedule and adapt to changes in the workflow
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong understanding of good laboratory practices and regulatory compliance
    • Knowledge of medical terminology
    • Ability to handle single and multichannel pipettes
    • Ability to work independently and dependently as a team
    Ability to work under direct and constant supervision of the Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)Preferred:

    • Minimum of 6 months related laboratory experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Knowledge of basic molecular biology techniques and manual laboratory skills
