Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a pivotal role in maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety.
Responsibilities

Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, forming the basis of the individualized plan of care.
Identify teaching needs and goals through collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.
Provide timely patient information and status during team conferences.
Utilize the nursing process in the provision of direct patient care, focusing on patient and family education.
Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching upon admission.
Communicate changes in patient status to support continuity of care.
Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel and promote a positive work environment.
Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
Maintain effective communication with management regarding service needs.
Assume charge responsibility as requested and identify opportunities for professional growth.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

BLS certification required prior to first shift.
ACLS certification required prior to first shift for CIRH only.
Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
Completion of at least one assignment with the current agency is required.
PCU experience preferred.
