    About the Department


    The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics competes at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics with the vision to reach Next Level Success for all 18 varsity teams and more than 500 student-athletes.

    The Bearcats have a proud athletics history, winning eight national championships and 117 conference titles.

    The Cincinnati men's basketball team is among the 15 winningest programs all-time, while the football team became the first American Athletic Conference program to compete in the College Football Playoff in 2021.

    Olympic gold medalist volleyball player Jordan Thompson, NBA Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson and Major League Baseball legend Sandy Koufax are among the several luminaries who have competed as Bearcats.

    Job Overview


    The University of Cincinnati (UC), Department of Athletics seeks applications for an Assistant Director of Volleyball Operations (Sports Program Associate).

    This a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package.


    The successful candidate will report to the Women's Volleyball Head Coach and will be expected to assist with the administration of a highly competitive Division I program in the Big 12 conference.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to organizing team events including game day, alumni events and team bonding, coordinating all aspects of team travel and meals, processing expense reports, tracking/reporting budget, serving as liaison to strategic brand manager and marketing unit while following University of Cincinnati and departmental policies, NCAA Division I, and Conference bylaws and regulations.

    The position requires some evening and weekend hours and travel with the team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with the sport of volleyball and knowledge of tracking/taking volleyball statistics.
    Essential Functions

    Responsible for all aspects of any of the following functions within a sport program:

    Business Operations (direct the operational and logistics function of the program)
    Administrative Associate (provide direct administrative support and coordination to the coaching staff and support personnel)

    Identify program needs and implement program improvements.
    Collaborate with staff to perform administrative tasks in line with program and departmental goals.

    Serve as ambassador of the program and look for opportunities to connect the program to the community and business partners.

    May be required to drive a university vehicle and/or student-athletes.
    Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
    Required Education

    Bachelor's Degree.
    Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

    Required Trainings/Certifications

    Must be able to pass and maintain NCAA recruiting certification if required by sport program.
    Valid driver's license.
    Required Experience

    Previous experience as a coach or collegiate player or work in an athletic department setting.
