As part of our data platform team, you will be instrumental in providing standardized tools, frameworks, and libraries designed to empower data pipelining and analytics efforts through our scalable data stack. Our mission is to enhance the software environment for data analysts, machine learning engineers, and data engineers at Doximity.

This position can be filled in our San Francisco headquarters OR remotely within the U.S., Central, or South America.

How You'll Make An Impact

• Collaborate closely with data analysts, data engineers, and machine learning engineers to understand their needs and challenges. Your role will be essential in ensuring our data stack evolves to meet current and future requirements.
• Engage with our data product teams to develop, architect, and implement solutions and best practices that enable them to focus on their immediate goals, reducing time spent on technical obstacles.
• Lead by example to cultivate a robust software engineering culture within the data organization.
• Work across teams to troubleshoot and resolve development, performance, and stability issues with our core data pipelines and Python libraries.

What We're Looking For

• We are seeking an outstanding Python engineer with extensive data engineering and internal tooling experience, capable of supporting multiple product teams simultaneously.
• The ideal candidate will have expert proficiency in Python and SQL, along with a solid understanding of programming language internals.
• Advanced knowledge of software engineering practices and testing methods is essential; you are passionate about writing high-quality code, automated testing, and implementing software engineering best practices.
• Your capacity for self-management, task prioritization, and delivering effective solutions will be key to thriving in this role.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. You appreciate the importance of using software development lifecycle tools and processes to ensure smooth collaboration.
• You possess strong SQL expertise and can effectively employ user-defined functions, stored procedures, and other database-oriented solutions to create efficient, cost-effective database-driven solutions.
• Advanced knowledge of container-based development workflows (Kubernetes, Docker, Podman), Snowflake, AWS, Apache Airflow, or Kafka will be considered a significant advantage.

Compensation

The total compensation range for this full-time position in the U.S. is $165,000 to $195,000 (inclusive of salary and equity). Ranges are determined by role and level, and individual pay is assessed based on relevant skills, experience, and education/training.
