The School Bus/Lunch Monitor is responsible for assisting bus drivers in providing on-going and emergency support to students while riding, loading and unloading the school bus to ensure the safety of all passengers. They will assist the classroom teachers during the student lunch periods and provide lunch coverage for teachers.

Responsibilities:

• 8:00 - 9:00 AM Bus Run
  • Receive students from parent/guardian at each stop
  • Have parent/guardian sign child in
  • Buckle children into seatbelts
• Upon arrival at school: each monitor would be assigned to a specific set of classrooms to support:
  • 9:00 - 9:45 Breakfast & toileting routines
  • 9:45 - 11:00 Provide coverage for teachers so they can observe colleagues, meet with a coach, or provide extra support
  • 11:00 - 11:30 Lunch Break
  • 11:30 - 2:00 Cover 5 lunches
  • 2:00 - 2:30 Snack & toileting routines
  • 2:30-2:45 Collect students for bus
• 2:45 - 4:00 PM Bus Run
  • Load and buckle students on the bus
  • Check the ID of an adult getting child off of the bus (needs to be the parent or on the emergency list)
  • Obtain parent/guardian signatures as students are dropped off at their stop
  • Contact the school office over any child being returned to school (so that office can contact the family for pick up)

Days: Monday - Friday
Salary: Daily Rate, Non-Union, No Benefits
