- Ensures that each employee understands his/her roles, responsibilities, and expectations
- Drives operational and service excellence according to established measures, KPI's and benchmarks
- Develops the team; engaged leadership providing constructive coaching and guidance consistently
- Understand the systems and procedures for directing the daily activity of the branches including order entry, shipping and receiving, safety, inventory control, and all others
- Knowledgeable about the products VTC sells and how those products can be utilized
- Ensure that daily and monthly reporting on individual branch performance based on company standard reports for key metrics, measures, and KPI's
- Participation in periodic business reviews and planning sessions
- Systematically interfaces with customers either on own and/or with Sales staff and Management for relationship building, service delivery issue resolution, sales growth opportunities, etc.
- Region workload is managed efficiently and effectively
- Ensure company's safety program is adhered to
- Embodies company's "Safety First" culture
- Lead an organization of ~20+ full-time associates
- Creating an operational and service-excellence culture
- Creating supportive team environment for all employees
- Ensures the team utilizes systems, processes, and procedures which maximize employee productivity and efficiency while delivering excellent customer service to internal and external customers
- Manage yearly operating expense budgets and capital expense budgets
- Provide yearly assessment on Branch Operating Results; numbers, initiatives, talent assessments, etc.
- Provide monthly reports
- Provide top-grading talent through hiring, training, and development of employees
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Self-motivated, achievement-oriented, interested in career advancement
- Ability to forge solid relationships with teammates, customers, clients, supplier partners, and operate effectively across a wide range of capabilities and personalities
- Excellent verbal and written communications
- Organized and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Comfortable using measures, KPI's, benchmarks, and financial data to manage the business and excel as a leader
- Cost-Conscious - intense focus on managing costs and improving margins in a small business environment
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or relevant experience in an operationally oriented role is preferred
- 7+ years of experience in operational function such as branch management, customer service, supply chain, warehouse management etc.
- 5+ years of direct management experience of salaried and/or hourly associates
- Experience in applying formal methodologies (e.g. Lean/Sigma) to improve business outcomes
- Experience with working in a cross-functional team environment
