    Description


    The primary responsibility of this position is to be a brand custodian for overseeing brand-related projects and working closely with marketing teams to execute the projects.

    The Brand Manager will develop brand strategies for the company and oversee a wide array of business functions including branding, communication channels, product development, online and offline promotions, and market research.

    You will typically manage a team that supports their efforts and reports to higher-level marketing staff. The ability to work autonomously, efficiently and in a flexible manner within the marketing team is crucial.
    Responsibilities

    Research and Planning
    Conduct consumer and market research
    Identify how our brand is currently positioned in the market
    Design a research-based brand strategy for budget planning
    Identify research needs and execute research studies and projects
    Analyze research to identify opportunities
    Stay current on market trends and competitive activity
    Define and manage the brand communication strategy
    Budgeting and Reporting
    Revenue Management
    Cost and Budget Management
    Driving profit
    Focus on aligning all departments on the brand plan
    Setting up a brand plan
    Reporting on strategies and performance
    Measure and report on the success of marketing campaigns
    Establish and maintain brand budgets
    Make decisions about the cost of branding and analyse trends
    Marketing and Communication
    Develop and execute marketing campaigns aimed at communicating the brand message
    Communicate our brand personality internally and align the company around ideas
    Anticipate consumer trends and keep the brand up to date
    Define and manage the brand communication strategy
    Own the development and messaging of the brand narrative
    Create and manage marketing programs and campaigns
    Media planning and strategy
    Key account marketing management events and advertising
    New product launches and marketing launch campaigns
    Packaging and advertising for the company
    Ensure brand consistency and execution across digital channels
    Images and photography briefing and coordinating a shoot or sourcing
    Research and store visits
    Maintaining a strong working relationship with Sales Team
    Working with internal departments for input and buy-in
    Liaising with stockists for information for cooperative advertising

    Strong focus on protecting brand value and building brand value
    Focus on cross-departmental alignment and implementation
    Implement marketing and commercial strategy
    Achieve sales targets through marketing

    Participate in safety forums and attend relevant training/programmes

    Comply with safety policies and procedures
    Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times
    Requirements

    Qualification and Experience
    Bachelor's degree in the relevant major.
    Literate in English, but a second African language is an advantage
    At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
    Excellent knowledge of marketing knowhow/strategy
