We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Construction Superintendent to lead and oversee large-scale construction projects from inception to completion. This dynamic role requires a proactive leader who can coordinate multiple teams, ensure safety compliance, and deliver projects on time and within budget. As a key member of our construction management team, you will drive excellence in project execution, quality control, and client satisfaction, all while fostering a collaborative and safety-first work environment. Requires extensive experience managing municipal and large scale commercial projects up to $50M.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and safety standards.
- Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or other construction management software to coordinate labor, equipment, and material deliveries efficiently.
- Oversee subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely completion of work while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Manage project budgets by monitoring costs, reviewing contracts, and implementing cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to guide onsite activities accurately.
- Conduct regular site inspections to enforce OSHA regulations, safety protocols, and quality control measures; address any safety concerns immediately.
- Utilize tools such as ProCore, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other construction management software for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes.
- Coordinate project scheduling with project managers using Primavera P6 or Primavera for effective resource allocation and timeline management.
- Oversee the procurement process including construction estimating and contracts management to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Supervise onsite personnel by providing clear direction, mentoring team members, and fostering a productive work environment.
- Maintain comprehensive records of daily activities, safety incidents, change orders, and progress reports for project transparency.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with industry standards such as OSHA guidelines while maintaining a focus on quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and architects to resolve technical issues related to schematics or technical drawings.
- Use tools such as Ohmmeter for electrical testing when required during construction phases involving electrical systems.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in heavy civil or commercial construction management with a strong track record supervising large-scale projects.
- Extensive knowledge of construction site operations including safety regulations (OSHA), blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating.
- Proficiency in construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6 or Primavera for scheduling; HeavyBid for cost estimation; OSHAsafety standards; and other relevant tools like Management systems for project tracking.
- Demonstrated supervising experience with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively while maintaining high safety standards.
- Strong understanding of contracts management and procurement processes within the construction industry.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate among clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams seamlessly.
- Ability to read technical drawings accurately using schematics or blueprints; familiarity with electrical testing tools like Ohmmeter is a plus.
- Physical capability to perform site inspections involving standing for extended periods and navigating active job sites safely. Pay: $85, $110,000.00 per year
