    As the Engineering Manager, New Product Introductions (NPI) for Pfister, you will be responsible for leading a team that designs and develops new products that meet product proposals and design critical-to-quality (CTQ) requirements.

    In this role you will ensure products are delivered on time, at cost, at the quality levels established while integrating the needs of end users, customer service and manufacturing.

    The Engineering Manager, NPI, interacts with and supports the Marketing, Quality, Sourcing, MCTO (material cost take out), and Sales teams with engineering analysis, testing and product training as required.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Involved with developing and executing business unit strategies with a focus on year-over-year financial improvement. Achieves results by motivating and inspiring a large team or work group. Recognizes when change is needed and leads team/work unit to embrace change.
    • Identifies and plans engineering project resources (allocation of staff) and project timelines. Continuously monitors and coaches team to meet project deliverables and timelines.
    • Effectively communicates business strategies and issues to upper management, subordinates, and internal/cross-functional customers. Understands the effect of their team's role and responsibilities on the overall business.
    • Ensures that designs fully meet or exceed customer, quality, and manufacturing expectations, and give HHI a long-term competitive edge.
    • Responsible for training and career development of direct reports. Trains Engineers in using advanced design techniques.
    • Develops, tracks, and delivers team goals and metrics.
    • Ability to create, understand, and track to annual departmental budget.
    • Manages projects and conducts engineering design activities as required.
    • Interacts with global engineering managers and staff in the development of projects.
    • Understands and communicates HR policies and procedures and takes appropriate action to hold team accountable.
    • Can write patent disclosures and identify the novel design features. Assists patent attorneys to craft claims to gain the broadest protection possible.
    Education and Experience Profile

    • 8+ years of experience required, preferably in a high volume consumer products industry.
    • 2+ years of management experience required.
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
    • Experience in designing parts that use screw machining, injection molding, die casting, stamping, and forging.
    • Experience working with suppliers in Asia is a plus.

    • Understands and drives product development processes, practices, and standards. Thorough knowledge of all applicable industry and company standards. Incorporates design for six sigma methodologies.
    • Advanced understanding of DFMEA and design review processes. Is able to lead the DFMEA process.
    • Proficient in creating cost estimates and timelines for new products.
    • Understands impact of product design to the overall business objectives and strategies.
    • Encourages networking between appropriate associates and suppliers. Structures and communicates effectively, especially in team presentations.
    • Has the ability to lead a team in product development or process/system innovation. Trains technical people and deploys technical knowledge. Understands and can quantify end user/customer requirements. Has the ability to effectively lead peers when required.
    • Strong knowledge and use of analytical software (e.g. Pro-Mechanica); may evaluate and select analytical software for technical area. Strong knowledge and use of the Windchill suite of programs, including Pro-Engineer, PDM-Link, and Project-Link, in developing new product concepts and communicating final configuration to manufacturing.
    • Sound knowledge of design practices and principles, including engineering mathematics and computation, CAD/CAE tools, GD&T, and technical report writing.
    • Working knowledge of high volume production processes, materials, tooling and equipment.
    • Experience with metal stamping, forging, die casting, permanent-mold casting, injection molding, and finishing desirable.
    • Effective communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

    Work Environment:

    • Working conditions are typical for R&D laboratory and office environments.
    • Hybrid work in office minimum 3 days/week
    • Up to 20% domestic and international travel

    Pay Range:
    $118,953-$174,465.

    This "base salary range" is a reasonable estimate for this position at the time of posting.

    Pay within each range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, to primary work job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
