Provides comprehensive assessments, case management, and support services that help youth and their families reintegrate into society following incarceration. Engages in public speaking, professional training, and collaborative initiatives with criminal justice partners to promote community connection. Evaluates information and institutes program action; prepares complete case reports within the general framework of professional casework techniques. Documents case management/provision of support services through service case notes and information database entry. Implements evidence-based programming to meet the individualized population needs. Facilitates meetings with youth/family/other relevant community partners for coordination of care. Works independently with minimal direct supervision; work is reviewed by an administrative superior through conferences, reports, and observation of results obtained.
QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:
- A Bachelor's degree in social work, Sociology, or Psychology; minimum of two (2) years of experience in social services,
OR
- An unrelated Bachelor's Degree; minimum of three (3) years of experience in social services,
OR
- An Associate's Degree social work, Sociology, or Psychology; minimum of four (4) years of experience in social services,
OR
- An unrelated Associate's Degree; minimum of five (5) years of experience in social services,
OR
- Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification and six (6) years of experience in social services.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of:
- Working with youth involved in the juvenile delinquency system (must specify on application),
- Conducting presentations/speaking in public.
Also desirable:
Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW); Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, and
Bi/trilingual (English/Spanish/Creole).
